After a horrific terraforming disaster on Mars, a mining corporation threatens to send the first colony back to Earth. But when EMMY (14) discovers that the move would kill her best friend, THEO, she launches a movement to declare Martian independence.

With the help of her scientist sister, an abandoned robot, and Theo’s online followers, Emmy races against the clock to recover a crashed solar sail from a mountain before the corporation arrives. Over the course of her journey, Emmy will learn that everybody has a role to play in revolutions and which sacrifices are worth making.
